Time management is life management

The foundation of productivity

Good Morning Achievers,

we’re starting the week with one of the most important aspects, not only for productivity and business, but also for your life.

I’m talking about the ability to manage your time.

We face countless responsibilities every day. We have goals and priorities, but how should we manage all this?

It can be really overwhelming. I’ve felt this myself.

“If you don’t control your time, you don’t control your life”

Nothing can sum up the importance of time management better than this quote.

Who chases every small opportunity won’t be able to find time for the things that actually matter.

How to manage your time

The foundation - Creating space

Say “no”

It’s harder than it sounds, but we need to make space and “create” time, before we can manage it.

To do that, we need to cut the things that make little or no impact.

Say no to the things that won’t lead to really big results, so you can say yes to the big opportunities.

Manage what you have

Now, when we actually have free time, we need to manage it for the things that matter most.

This is the strategy I use by myself:

  1. Set goals and to-dos for the next day

  2. Combine a goal with a specific time-frame

  3. Leave space (sometimes things take longer than expected)

  4. Do the thing (make sure you do it in the time you scheduled it)

It’s simple, but highly effective.

The right balance between planning and execution will lead to massive results.

Now we come to the last factor of time management.

Keep it - Protect your time

Once you have time, it’s important to know what to work on. Clarity is key.

When you’re not sure what to do, procrastination can easily take over and steal your time.

Define your goals and break them down into smaller ones.

Which action tomorrow will lead to a bigger outcome that will lead to my biggest dream?

Focus on these small goals and avoid everything that’s not connected to it.

Most things are just distractions.

Quote of the week

“Ordinary people think only of how they shall spend their time; a man of talent tries to use it.”

– Blaise Pascal

Time is not only this irrational thing we can’t see and don’t understand. It’s our life.

We can’t get more of it. We just can make use of the limited amount we have left.

Make the best of your time this week.

Hope you’re doing great!

See you next week,

Elias
