The Secret To Focus

Everyone knows it - Few understand it

Good Morning Achievers!

Today we’re going to talk about one of the most important drivers of productivity you can have:

Flow.

A lot of people talk about it.

Few truly understand it.

Most don’t even know what it really means.

Let’s break it down:

What is flow?

Flow is the state when you feel fully aligned with your work.

It happens when the balance between the complexity of a task and your own abilities is just right.

Ideas come naturally, and you start enjoying what you do.

It’s one of the deepest forms of focus because it’s a state you naturally want to be in.

It’s connected to many positive emotions, as the brain releases various neurotransmitters like dopamine while in flow.

Why is flow so powerful?

The moment you enter a flow state, discipline becomes irrelevant.

You’re excited to do what you’re doing, so it doesn’t feel hard.

It’s also an incredible tool to become more productive, since you can activate flow whenever you want.

But how do we actually get into this flow state?

Here’s a step-by-step guide to doing it:

 1. Choose your task

The task you want to flow in must match your abilities.

It’s crucial that it’s challenging but not frustrating.

Make sure it’s at the edge of your skill level.

 2. Add dopamine

Flow is a highly emotional state.

It’s simply enjoyable to work in flow because you keep achieving things.

There are two important ways to boost dopamine:

Get some quick wins early on.

The faster you gain traction in the task, the quicker your brain produces dopamine, supporting flow.

  Create the right environment.

Make sure your surroundings are comfortable. When your environment triggers dopamine, flow comes more naturally.

But avoid distractions—too much comfort can break your focus.

 3. Focus

Once you’re in flow, you’re exactly where you want to be.

Make sure nothing can interrupt you, and don’t stop working until your focus is completely done.

  Remove all distractions

Concentrate only on the task in front of you

Celebrate every small win and let them propel you forward

Take action

Now that you know how to get into flow easily, try it out.

The next time you sit at your desk to work, remember these 3 steps and enter a flow state.

Trust me, your results will be amazing.
