Yesterday was one of those days for me where you sit there and try to think, but you just can’t.

You want to get results and ideas, but the harder you try, the less you actually think.

So I sat there with my notes app, ready to write something, but my mind was empty.

I got frustrated and put my phone away.

I got up and did something else, away from any screen.

And suddenly: a lot of thoughts and ideas came to my mind!

Actually, some really good ones.

I think that even though we all spend a lot of time on social media (maybe you’re reading this on social media), it’s important to set times where you take an intentional break.

Especially if you’re an entrepreneur, content creator, or thinker, you need to have great ideas.

And I learned that great ideas don’t come from being active on your phone all day or staring at a screen, forcing yourself to come up with something.

It takes the time that it takes, but the outcome will be much better.

(I believe that the quality of my ideas off screen is 10-50x better than on screen.)

The problem is also that we face such an insanely huge amount of thoughts, opinions, or lessons from people we don’t even know, that our brain gets used to letting others think for us.

Lesson

So my lesson from yesterday is:

If you need to be creative.If you need to solve a problem.If you need to come up with ideas.If you need to tackle a difficult task.

Always do this in offline mode.

Turn on online mode, by going offline.

I now want you to try exactly that.

4. Do something non-cognitively demanding
